So we’re gonna be talking about that and to give you some information maybe you don’t know what’s the best filters for your Tulsa pools.

Rachel: Okay, so there’s a really cool resource for any pool owners, swim fanatics, whatever, swimuniversity.com is a great resource. They have tons of articles about a bunch of different topics and these are the eight best swimming pool filters according to swimuniversity.com that are on the market right now. And these are specific models so if you’re in the market for a new pool filter these would be some ones that you’d want to look at. Now, we do new construction pools so most of the time we’re going to recommend the proper filter for any new customer, so even if you don’t know anything about pool filters we’re gonna help you out and we’re gonna get the best one for your needs. But this is some knowledge in case you’re wondering about the different types of filters that are on the market or like I said if you’re … if you have a pool and you’re in the market for a new one, these are the top eight right now Tulsa Pools.
So the filter is like … is the life of your pool. It keeps your water clean, it keeps debris out so that you can enjoy a clean, clear pool. Because nobody likes swimming in murky water that you can’t see you hand five inches down. That’s just gross. So having the right filter is really important and it can be tough to choose one if you don’t know the differences or what you need. So we’re going to help you with that. So we’re going to break this down and do three different categories because there are three different types of filters that you can purchase. There’s sand filters, which use like the name says, sand, to filter out bacteria. There are DE filters. DE stands for diatomaceous earth and that is fossilized plankton that cleans the water. And then there are cartridge filters which is a little cartridge made of a cloth or fabric that cleans the water. So we’re gonna go through some different models of each of these categories.
So we’re going to start with sand filters. The best sand filters on the market Tulsa Pools.

Rachel: The first one that we have here is the Hayward S244T sand filter. And all these filters are going to be in-ground filters because at Sierra Pools and Spas of Tulsa we only build in-ground gunite pools so if you have an aboveground pool, you’re going to have to find something else and swimuniversity.com has some listed for aboveground pools as well. But these will all be in-ground filters. And you can find all these on Amazon actually.

Rachel: If you wanted to buy it yourself, so. Keep that in mind. So the Hayward S244T has a weather proof tank and it’ll make your maintenance schedule a lot easier and less frequent because it only needs to be backwashed every few months. Now that is depending on your pool use. Tulsa Pools If you’re using your pool a lot it’ll have to be a little bit more frequent than that. But this filter just makes your maintenance a little bit less frequent, which is nice. So that’s number one for best sand filter.
Number two would be a Pentair product. Hayward and Pentair are like the top two brands of pool equipment. So these are both really two … really good reputable companies that have been around for a long time. So number two is a Pentair Triton Two sand filter. This filter is designed for ease. So the gauge is really easy to read, it’s placed in a really convenient spot, it’s not hard to get to and all the parts are really easily serviced and repaired if you have a problem. And if you’re worried about the winter, you don’t have to be. The filter is really easy to winterize so you can leave it connected all year long, which makes things really nice. So.
Cody: That’s the Triton Two.
Rachel: Triton Two.
Cody: Is that right?
Rachel: Yep.
Cody: Pentair Triton Two.
Rachel: So those are the top two sand filters. Next we’re going to move onto the best DE filters or diatomaceous earth filters. So we have here … the first one is a Hayward EC40AC filter. This offers some serious cleaning power but it also is low maintenance. So that’s really nice. Tulsa Pools It features a CO bump mechanism and this allows the filter … I’m sorry, the diatomaceous earth tubes to clean themselves. So your maintenance time will be really low. You won’t have to spend much time because it’s going to clean itself. It also cleans your pool really fast so you don’t have to worry about any debris or bacteria in your water right before you have a swim party. So it’s a very efficient filter, very fast.
The next one on the list here is the Pentair 188592 filter. This filter has four large capacity cartridges and that’s designed to give you the most surface area possible to give your water the best scrubbing, the best cleaning possible. It’s really easy to remove and so that makes maintenance a lot easier than ever and you’ll really notice your energy costs will drop because it cleans the water really fast. A lot faster than many other filters. So it’s really fast, efficient filter.
And the next one here would be the Jandy Zodiac DEV60 filter. Tulsa Pools Jandy is another one of those companies that has been around for a long time, right up there with Hayward and Pentair. Really reputable company. So this filter is built to last. It’s built to stand the test of time. It’s made from really durable materials, it’s a heavy duty composite that is resistant to UV rays and corrosion. Again with this one, the pressure gauge is really easy to read and it even has a clean and dirty indicator so you know exactly when it’s time to clean it. So it’s really easy to read.
It has easy grip handles and a design that’s just really well thought out and the maintenance and service reduce your cost in the process so again, really efficient. DE filters are all about efficiency, so they’re a little bit more expensive to install but their main benefits are efficiency and being really fast. So these types of filters are really popular in areas where their swim season is really short and they just want to make sure that they get their pools cleaned quickly and efficiently. So if you live in an area where you have a longer pool season you may not have to invest in a DE filter but if you have the money they are very efficient.
And the last one we have here on the DE filters is the Hayward EC50C93S filter. It’s a corrosion-proof design and it’s made for a lot of different types of pools and has a variety of features. So this one is designed to save you money which is nice. It’ll push more water per horsepower than other filters. So it really cuts down on your energy costs because your filter and pump are running on your pool so that’s nice.

So it includes a unique gauge to display when the filter is clean and dirty so that you know when you need to remove it and clean your cartridge.
